September 9 – November 25   Early Literacy Story Time Mondays 10:00am—11:00am OR 1:00pm – 2:00pm
Stories, rhymes, crafts, and a short movie are enjoyed by everyone. Recommended for preschool age and younger. No registration required.

September 9 – December 16   Weekly drop-in activities in the children’s area. 
Each week will have a new activity, craft and book out at the children tables that will be available throughout library open hours. Recommended for elementary school age and younger.

September 21   KJM Library 25th Anniversary 1:00 pm – 3:00pm  Everyone is invited to celebrate the KJM Library’s 25 Anniversary! Enjoy the photo booth and picture scavenger hunt all day, 10:00am to 3:00pm. Enjoy music from Billy Saffyre, tile painting (added to the library’s children area for $10 per family), balloon designs by Pop Art, free food from Ayala’s Market, free cupcakes, a proclamation from Waterloo Mayor Mrs. Quimby, and free beverages from Paradiddle’s Café.Sponsored by the Friends of the KJM Library.

September 24, October 29, November 26   Pajama Story Time     Last TUESDAY of the month     6pm – 7pm
Enjoy family fun stories, rhymes, games or crafts. Children may wear pajamas and bring a favorite stuffed toy or blanket. Recommended for ages 8 and younger. No registration required.

October 1 & November 5    Youth Tech Time 3:30pm—4:30pm
Learn how to use Ozobots, littleBits and Makey Makey kits. Drop-in (5min., 15 mins. or the whole hour). No Registration required. Recommended ages 5 and up. Children ages 8 and younger MUST be attending with an adult.

October 1-31   Fired Up Reading Challenge Win a fire truck ride to school!
Participants who read for 4 hours during Oct. 1st—Oct. 31st will receive a surprise! The reader with the most hours completed will earn a ride to school in a fire truck!! Fired Up reading records are available at the KJM Library beginning October 1st. Children must be independent readers.

October 19  Family Story Time SATURDAY 10:00am—11:00am

October 21 & November 4  Read to Bounce  3:30pm – 4:30pm     Children are needed to read to a sweet dog for 15 minutes! Did you know that reading to dogs can boost reading skills and confidence as well as help with emotional and social skills? Denine, a dog handler, and her trained therapy dog – Bounce, through Therapy Dogs International, love to listen to great stories! SIGN UP HERE or drop-in.

October 22   Halloween Activity Stations 2:00pm – 5:00pm
Participate in the picture scavenger hunt and choose from several stations of activities. Drop-in.

October 24   Family Escape Room – Fall Fiasco  10:00am – 7:00pm
Solve clues and puzzles to ESCAPE the library! Maximum 10 people per team. Registration required.
